nGeneChromeTools

Privacy Policy

Privacy summary

nGeneChromeTools provides persistent right-click restoration on regular HTTP and HTTPS pages and user-initiated YouTube transcript copying. Right-click restoration is disabled by default. Transcript text, page content, browsing information, settings, and diagnostic logs are not sent to nGene Hemodynamic Research Center, advertising networks, analytics providers, external AI services, or developer-operated servers.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how nGene Hemodynamic Research Center handles information in connection with the nGeneChromeTools Chrome extension. It applies only to nGeneChromeTools and not to unrelated websites, applications, or services.

2. Purpose of the extension

nGeneChromeTools provides text access and copying tools. It prepares the available transcript of the active YouTube video for copying and, when enabled, restores native right-click, text selection, and copying on regular HTTP and HTTPS webpages. The saved right-click setting applies across supported webpages until it is changed.

3. Information processed

4. When processing occurs

Transcript processing begins only after the extension popup is opened on a supported YouTube video. Right-click support code starts at document load on regular HTTP and HTTPS pages, including frames, so the saved setting can be applied consistently. The setting is disabled by default. While disabled, the support code reads the saved setting and waits for setting changes but does not inspect or collect page content. When enabled, the setting remains enabled across supported webpages and browser sessions until it is turned off.

5. How information is used

Information is used only to provide the disclosed transcript and right-click features, display operational status, and diagnose failures. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, marketing, credit decisions, or any unrelated purpose.

6. Local storage and retention

Prepared transcript text is held temporarily in the extension popup and is not saved in persistent extension storage. It is discarded when the popup session ends, except for a copy placed on the system clipboard at the user's request.

The right-click preference, its settings schema version, and the sanitized diagnostic log are stored in chrome.storage.local. The diagnostic log is limited in size and remains until it is cleared in the popup or the extension is removed. The right-click preference remains until it is changed or the extension is removed.

7. Site access, network communication, and disclosure

To apply the saved right-click preference without requiring repeated activation, packaged support code is loaded at document start in frames on regular HTTP and HTTPS pages, including eligible about:blank child frames. This access is used only for the disclosed right-click, text-selection, and copying feature. The support code does not transmit page content or browsing activity.

nGeneChromeTools does not send transcript text, browsing information, settings, or diagnostic logs to nGene Hemodynamic Research Center or to any developer-operated server.

To retrieve available transcript data, the extension makes necessary HTTPS requests to validated Google or YouTube endpoints from the active YouTube page. Those requests may use session information managed by the browser and YouTube. The extension does not read or store account passwords or raw cookie values. Google and YouTube process those requests under their own terms and privacy policies.

No user data is sold or transferred to advertising networks, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties. A diagnostic log is disclosed to the developer only if the user independently chooses to copy and send it for support.

8. Clipboard behavior

The extension writes a prepared transcript or diagnostic log to the clipboard only after the corresponding Copy button is selected. It does not read clipboard contents.

9. Security

Transcript requests use HTTPS and are restricted to validated Google or YouTube endpoints. All extension logic is packaged with the extension, and no remote code is downloaded or executed. Locally stored information is protected by the security controls of Chrome, the Chrome profile, and the operating system.

10. User controls

11. Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the extension's features or data practices change. The effective date and last updated date will be revised when a material change is made. Material changes will be disclosed as required before the changed data practice begins.
